THE Best Banana Bread
I personally think I make some of the best banana bread around- as a dietitian, I love the addition of whole wheat flour, and this recipe contains less sugar than typical dessert-like banana breads. This bread tastes buttery (without butter, actually), and it’s perfectly studded with dark chocolate chips- my fav! While I love having this as a simple breakfast paired with cottage cheese, it truly doesn’t last long; our family of 5 devours it within about 24 hours. Yum!

Ingredients
The Best Banana Bread
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup avocado oil
- 2-3 overripe bananas
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or measure with your heart)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drizzle a small amount of oil in a loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients - flours, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients until well combined. Add the dry ingredients to the wet. Stir in chocolate chips. Mix until combined.
- Pour the batter into the loaf pan. Bake for 45-55 minutes. Let the loaf cool on a rack for about 5 minutes before turning the bread out of the pan.
- Enjoy!
